Rooted in History

Serving Hartford County with trust and commitment since 1934!

Our History

When you become a member of Franklin Trust Federal Credit Union, you're joining a community of individuals who've discovered a better way to bank. Unlike traditional banks, we offer personalized service and lower fees, ensuring you get the most out of your financial experience.

Founded in 1934 as Public-School Teachers of Hartford City Federal Credit Union, we began with charter number 12, making us the third oldest federally chartered credit union still in existence. Initially, we focused on serving local educators in Hartford, CT.

In 2013, we proudly became a community-chartered credit union, opening membership to those who live, work, worship, or attend school in Hartford County, Connecticut. With this change, we also adopted the name Franklin Trust Federal Credit Union.

As we grow and evolve, Franklin Trust remains committed to providing exceptional service and competitive financial solutions to all our members. We're proud of our long history and look forward to many more years of serving our community.
